Belt Test, May 2014

It was a pleasure to see the fruits of the hard work at the belt test last night!

There was some excellent martial arts on display!

Very nice improvements on the topics we studied over the last few months:

from ground techniques to stand-up techniques;

martial arts heavy bag hitting

from Okinawan karate kata,

Pinan Sandan kata, Okinawan Shito-Ryu Karate

to escrima sticks

escrima stick fighting

and knife skills

knife disarm reflex drill

Congratulations to the new belt ranks:

  • Nate: Green Belt — gokyu
  • Ken: Green Belt — gokyu
  • Lisa: Purple Belt – shichikyu
  • Cassie: Purple Belt – shichikyu
  • Victoria: Orange Belt – jukyu
  • Jonno: Orange Belt – jukyu

    It was a challenging and fun belt test. It’s nice to see how one progresses from belt to belt, learning and refining techniques; by daily practice.

    Lastly, I find it interesting on how the body continually adapts to meet the minds needs; throughout the practice of Martial Arts.

    Again, Congratulations to all; who put in the effort to accomplish their goals.
